Wilhelm (Willy) Dzubas (1877 to ?)
A famous and successful poster artist noted for spectacular and distinctive Art Deco style skyscraper posters (commissioned by the German Tourist Information Office), Dzubas fled Berlin in the 1930s and settled in London where he remained for the rest of his life.
This vibrant painting has an interesting provenance as it was gifted by the artist to his then neighbour who in turn passed it to her daughter who eventually sold it. It is dated 1949, two years after the date of death usually given for the artist……………
