Job Nixon RWS RE NEAC (1891-1938)
'French Landscape'
Oil on Canvas
Signed and Dated 1929
Nixon was probably best known for his etchings and drypoints but was also an accomplished painter and printmaker.
Although living in Cornwall at the time of painting, Nixon had previously spent time after the First World War in both Italy and France and was at home in both countries so it is likely the picture was painted during a return visit.
