Campbell, Peter
(1931-1989)
Peter Campbell was born in London in 1931 and studied at the London School of Printing and at Goldsmiths College, London. He worked as a graphic designer until 1965 but then took up full time painting.
In 1971, he moved to Eye in Suffolk in 1971 and the East Anglian countryside proved a source of inspiration reflected in much of his work.
His work also reflects his love of antiquity, mythology and the arts.
Tragically, Peter died in 1989 after suffering a heart attack but his work continues to prove popular and is held in numerous private and public collections.
